Electronic Arts (EA) has removed its FIFA games from digital storefronts like Steam and console stores. This includes previous titles such as FIFA 23, which are no longer available for purchase. However, players can still access the games through EA Play, the publisher’s subscription service. Physical copies of the delisted games can also be found on consoles, and those who have already purchased a FIFA game on a digital storefront can still download it.

The reason behind EA’s decision to remove these games from sale is unclear, and the publisher has yet to provide clarification. However, it is speculated that a licensing issue may be involved. Last year, EA and FIFA ended their long-standing licensing partnership for the soccer simulation series. EA has now rebranded the franchise as EA Sports FC, with the first entry set to release officially on September 29.

Despite the removal of its FIFA games, EA assures that the FIFA name will still appear on future games, although not necessarily those developed by EA. FIFA president Gianni Infantino stated last year that the authentic and best game with the FIFA name will be available for gamers and football fans.
