Honda has announced that the upcoming 2024 Honda Prologue, its first all-electric SUV, is expected to have a range of 300 miles on a single charge. This is made possible by the 85 kWh battery, which is the same size as the battery in the Chevy Blazer EV. While the Blazer EV has an EPA-estimated range of 279 miles, the Prologue is expected to surpass it with its 300-mile range. Both vehicles share similarities in terms of design and features, including Google built-in software. However, the Prologue stands out with its inclusion of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, which the Blazer EV lacks.

Honda will offer various charging package options for Prologue and Acura ZDX buyers. These packages include public charging credits and charging equipment. One package includes an 11.5 kW home charging station with installation service incentives, while another offers a portable 7.6 kW charger. Additionally, the Prologue will come with free DC fast charging at Electrify America stations, offering up to 60 kWh of fast charging.

The Prologue EV will be priced in the upper $40,000s and is expected to qualify for the $7,500 federal tax incentive. Honda plans to release its first Prologue EVs in early 2024. This move marks Honda’s efforts to catch up in the electric vehicle market, as it has been slower compared to other automakers. The Prologue, built on GM’s platform, serves as a temporary solution, with Honda planning to introduce 30 new EVs globally by 2030 and achieve a sales volume of 2 million electric vehicles.

In summary, the 2024 Honda Prologue is anticipated to offer an impressive range of 300 miles on a single charge, surpassing the Chevy Blazer EV. Honda’s inclusion of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support sets it apart from its competitors. The Prologue will provide charging package options and free fast charging at Electrify America stations. Honda plans to release the Prologue EVs in early 2024 and aims to introduce 30 new EVs worldwide by 2030.
