Super Nintendo World theme park in Orlando is approaching its opening for visitors. Universal Orlando Resort has announced that this Mario-themed attraction will open its doors on May 22, 2025, providing over six months for enthusiasts to prepare for the occasion.
This installation marks the third Nintendo theme park globally, joining its counterparts in Los Angeles and Japan. Similar to the layouts of the other parks, visitors can expect a large interactive area, themed rides, as well as food and shopping opportunities related to Nintendo. The original park in Japan has recently added a Donkey Kong Country area, though it is not yet confirmed if this feature will appear in the U.S. parks.
This development is part of a broader expansion at Universal Resort Orlando, known as Universal Epic Universe, which will feature five areas. In addition to Super Nintendo World, the expansion will include the existing Harry Potter attraction. New developments will also feature a theme park based on the "How to Train Your Dragon" franchise and another on the "Dark Universe" franchise—a cinematic universe that faced challenges when its films, including 2017’s The Mummy, underperformed.
Lastly, Celestial Park will be part of the expansion, offering a standard amusement park experience with a sci-fi theme, including space-themed roller coasters and other attractions.
