On Thursday, the high-performance car manufacturer Ferrari introduced its first new supercar in over a decade, named the F80. The Italian luxury sports car maker revealed that it will produce only 799 units of this special-edition model, each boasting a price of $3.9 million. All have been sold.

The F80, inspired by features from Endurance motor competitions and Formula 1, incorporates numerous advanced technologies. It is equipped with a six-cylinder, three-liter full-hybrid engine delivering a total of 1,200 horsepower. Additionally, the vehicle includes racing brake pads, state-of-the-art active suspension, and ultralight 3D-printed metal components, such as suspension arms.

Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, introduced the F80 in Maranello, where Ferrari is headquartered. He described the car as a model that elevates Ferrari’s range, expressing hope that it will leave a significant mark in the years to come.

Ferrari’s supercars, renowned for incorporating cutting-edge technological features, are typically launched once every decade. The last model was the LaFerrari in 2013, followed by the open-top LaFerrari Aperta in 2016. The series began 40 years ago with the GTO.

The F80’s engine architecture is similar to that used in the World Endurance Championship, where Ferrari recently secured victories in the last two 24 Hours of Le Mans events. The model also employs Formula 1 technologies and can reach a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
