Pedestrian struck and thrown in path of Cruise car by hit-and-run driver in San Francisco

A hit-and-run accident in San Francisco involving a driverless Cruise car has left a pedestrian with serious injuries. The incident occurred at the intersection of Fifth and Market streets when the driverless vehicle and another sedan were traveling side-by-side. The sedan hit the pedestrian, propelling her into the path of the Cruise car, which ran her over. The autonomous vehicle braked aggressively to minimize the impact.
