Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, took part in a town hall-style meeting at Ridley High School in Folsom, Pennsylvania, on October 17, 2024, to promote early and absentee voting.

On Saturday, Musk announced he would distribute $1 million each day to someone who signs his online petition supporting the U.S. Constitution until the November election. The first $1 million was awarded to John Dreher, an event attendee, as part of Musk’s efforts to rally support for Republican Donald Trump. Event staff confirmed Dreher as the recipient.

Musk’s financial contributions have become a key element in influencing the competitive presidential race between Donald Trump and his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris. He founded America PAC, a political action committee supporting Trump’s campaign, which focuses on mobilizing and registering voters in critical states. Nevertheless, there are indications that the group faces challenges in achieving its objectives.

The Harrisburg event marked Musk’s third appearance in Pennsylvania in as many days, where he has been underscoring the importance of the upcoming election and urging early voting. Musk stated that a Harris victory would signify “the last election,” implying significant changes to the nation’s structure.

Musk also referenced two alleged assassination attempts on Trump as evidence of the disruptive impact Trump supposedly has, suggesting that Harris does not pose a similar threat to the status quo. He described Harris as a “puppet,” suggesting that attempts on her life would be futile.

The petition Musk is promoting reads: “The First and Second Amendments guarantee freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. By signing below, I am pledging my support for the First and Second Amendments.” Attendees at the event were required to sign the petition, which allowed America PAC to gather contact information for potential voters.

According to federal disclosures, Musk, recognized by Forbes as the world’s richest individual, has contributed at least $75 million to America PAC, underscoring its pivotal role in Trump’s strategy to reclaim the presidency. Musk has increasingly aligned with Republican causes and emerged as a prominent supporter of Trump. In response, Trump has indicated he would appoint Musk to head a government efficiency commission if elected.
