iOS 17.1 beta 2 has been released, following the initial beta version that was launched last week. This update brings some changes to StandBy and reintroduces the ringtones that were missing from the first beta. Developers can update to this new version through the Settings app, and it is expected to be available for public beta testers later this week. Along with iOS 17.1 beta 2, Apple has also released new developer betas for watchOS 10.1, macOS Sonoma 14.1, tvOS 17.1, and iPadOS 17.1.

One of the main additions in iOS 17.1 beta 2 is the inclusion of new ringtones that were originally introduced in iOS 17. These ringtones were not available in the first beta of iOS 17.1, but they have now been added in this update. However, users have reported that these ringtones are still not very loud, but the update does give the ability to set custom tones, unlike in iOS 17.

Another notable change in iOS 17.1 beta 2 is the addition of new options in the StandBy settings. Under the “Display” option, users can now choose to have the display turn off automatically after 20 seconds or never. Previously, this level of control was not available for StandBy. However, these new options are only available on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro models that have always-on displays. Additionally, this update also addresses an issue with Remote Widgets and introduces the new Double Tap feature for Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

In conclusion, iOS 17.1 beta 2 brings back the missing ringtones from the previous beta and includes new options for StandBy settings. It also addresses some issues and introduces new features for Apple Watch. Developers can now update their devices, and the update is expected to be available for public beta testers soon.
