Manthey-Racing is developing an upgrade kit for the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS, as seen in a recent spy video of the test vehicle blazing around the Nurburgring race track. While the appearance of the Manthey-tuned 911 GT3 RS remains similar to the standard model, previous upgrades from the company have focused on enhancing the car’s aerodynamics and chassis. The 911 GT3 RS is already known for its remarkable downforce capabilities, producing 910 pounds at 124 mph, and Manthey’s kit aims to build upon these impressive specs. The upgraded GT3 RS is expected to feature a larger front splitter, an enhanced diffuser, a new wing, and more.
Manthey-Racing previously collaborated with Porsche to develop an upgrade kit for the regular 911 GT3, which included a modified coilover suspension system. The enhancements resulted in a significant 4.1-second reduction in the car’s Nurburgring lap time compared to the non-tuned variant. Based on Manthey’s past upgrades, it is likely that the new RS kit will include a more prominent lip spoiler, canards, aero discs for the wheels, and a revised rear diffuser. The upgraded GT3 RS is powered by Porsche’s naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, producing 518 horsepower and achieving a 0-60 mph time of 3.0 seconds. The cost of the new kit has not been disclosed, but the upgrade for the standard GT3 is priced at $57,300, not including optional wheels priced at $15,500.
