The second season of Twisted Metal is set to premiere on Peacock on July 31, featuring the video game adaptation starring Anthony Mackie. A trailer was released in February, providing a glimpse of the upcoming demolition derby chaos.
Accompanying this announcement was a teaser where the character Quiet remarks on the show’s impressive presentation. The returning cast includes Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Anthony Carrigan. Michael Jonathan Smith, the writer-showrunner and executive producer, described the stakes of the new season, stating that Mackie’s character, John Doe, alongside Quiet (Beatriz), faces significant risks as they enter a perilous demolition derby. The ultimate prize is a wish to fulfill their deepest desires.
The challenge, however, involves competing against 16 other drivers with their own aspirations. The season promises a fast-paced, comedic, and thrilling experience with memorable characters, though not all will make it through. Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa (a.k.a. Samoa Joe) reprise their role as Sweet Tooth, while Anthony Carrigan returns as the tournament host, Calypso.
Peacock has also released a series of first-look photos to coincide with the announcement. The official synopsis reveals that after the events of the first season finale, John and Quiet enter the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, hosted by the enigmatic Calypso. The duo must navigate challenges from dangerous opponents and familiar adversaries such as the killer clown, Sweet Tooth. Complications arise for John when he reconnects with his sister, the vigilante Dollface.
Season two of Twisted Metal will debut on Peacock on July 31, with the first season available for streaming now.
