Readers are being encouraged to revisit their “to be read” piles and charge up their e-readers, as Amazon has launched another significant Book Sale. The event is officially scheduled to run from April 23 to 28, with early deals already accessible. Buyers can anticipate savings on a variety of formats including hardcover and paperback books, ebooks, audiobooks, Kindle devices, and book-related memberships. The sale offers a diverse selection of genres such as children’s literature, mystery novels, nonfiction, memoirs, and popular titles from the BookTok community. Updates on preferred early deals are provided, with further updates expected as more deals become available.

Although no announcements have been made regarding the upcoming Prime Day, historically, the Amazon Book Sale has fallen between the Big Spring Sale and Prime Day. Since Prime Day typically occurs in mid-July, it is likely to follow a similar schedule this year.

Consumers are encouraged to explore related buying guides such as the Best Kindles, Best E-Readers, Best Ebook Subscription Services, Best Reading Lights, and Best Kindle Accessories. For those preferring alternatives to Amazon, discounted books can often be found at Bookshop.org.

Among the items featured in the early deals is the Amazon Kindle Scribe, which received a WIRED recommendation. Redesigned last year, it now includes the Premium Pen with a soft-tipped eraser and offers new software features like Active Canvas and AI summarization for note-taking. Various other Kindle devices are available for users not interested in these features, but only the Kindle Scribe is currently on sale.

New customers are eligible for a deal offering three months of Kindle Unlimited for $1. Kindle Unlimited, favored by WIRED reviewer Simon Hill, offers a vast selection of books, allowing readers to borrow up to 10 at a time. Typically, trial periods last one month, but this promotion occasionally revisits. The trial will auto-renew at $12 per month without cancellation.

Audible, WIRED’s preferred audiobook subscription service, is also offering a cost-effective trial for new subscribers. Participants can select one audiobook each month to keep, with Prime members receiving two under the trial. This service provides accessible podcasts, audiobooks, and Audible Original titles. It should be noted that the trial will auto-renew at $15 per month unless canceled.

In addition to these services, the sale features a variety of books. One offering is an illustrated book exploring 21 different National Parks, replete with maps and species information—ideal for bedtime reading. For readers interested in fungi, another selection details the diverse roles of mushrooms, accompanied by hundreds of full-color images.

A contemporary romance by the author of the popular “Fourth Wing” fantasy series is also available, focusing on the love story of a ballerina and a rescue swimmer. Additionally, a diverse cookbook provides guidance on ingredients and seasonings, receiving high praise from users.

Included in the sale is a memoir recounting the author’s survival against atrocities, with themes of bravery and resilience. For those seeking a breezy read, a monster romance offers humor and engaging content, with additional books available in the series for extended enjoyment.
