Voice actor Kevin Afghani has announced on Twitter that he will be voicing the characters of Mario and Luigi in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder game for Nintendo Switch. This comes after Charles Martinet, who had been the voice of Mario and other characters for many years, stepped back from recording voices and took on the role of “Mario Ambassador.” Martinet had been the voice actor for Mario since 1991 and has voiced the character in numerous games and spinoffs. Although he did not voice Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Martinet had cameo roles in the film.

Nintendo announced the Super Mario Bros. Wonder 2D platforming game in June, and it is set to be released on October 20. The game will feature both local and online multiplayer functionality.

With this announcement, fans of the Super Mario Bros. franchise can look forward to hearing Afghani’s portrayal of the iconic Mario and Luigi characters in the highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. Wonder game. Nintendo’s decision to bring in a new voice actor for these beloved characters marks a significant change for the series after Martinet’s long tenure as their voice. The upcoming game promises to deliver the classic, platforming action that fans know and love, while also providing new multiplayer features to enhance the gaming experience.
