Private equity firm Bain is considering the possibility of acquiring car insurance software vendor CCC Intelligent Solutions (NASDAQ:CCCS). This move comes as several interested parties, including Bain, have shown interest in the Chicago-based company, which is currently backed by Advent International. While no final decision has been made, Bain may choose to pursue the takeover of CCC Intelligent Solutions.
The report of Bain’s interest in CCC Intelligent Solutions follows a 4% increase in the company’s shares after a Reuters report revealed that Advent, which holds a 56% stake in the company, was exploring a potential sale. With a market capitalization of $7.7 billion, CCC Intelligent Solutions has attracted attention from potential buyers. Advent had previously agreed to take the company public through a SPAC deal in February 2021.
As Bain evaluates this potential acquisition, it joins a group of suitors who recognize the value and potential of CCC Intelligent Solutions’ car insurance software. The outcome of this evaluation remains uncertain, and it is yet to be determined whether Bain will proceed with its pursuit of CCC Intelligent Solutions.
