Mark Cuban, a notable figure from “Shark Tank,” has been actively supporting Kamala Harris, particularly on matters concerning the economy and business. Despite this, he has not contributed financially to her campaign and expressed no interest in pursuing a cabinet position.

In a recent interview with ABC News, Cuban, who previously endorsed Nikki Haley during the Republican primary, characterized Harris as open-minded and not driven by ideology. He emphasized that he has not donated any money to her campaign, countering assumptions about his financial support. Cuban clarified that he hasn’t contributed to any political candidate since 2002, stating his preference to support candidates for whom he feels genuine enthusiasm without monetary influence.

This stance differs from other business leaders who have financially supported Harris, such as LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman and Netflix cofounder Reed Hastings, who have collectively donated substantial amounts to pro-Harris Political Action Committees. In contrast, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has invested at least $132 million in efforts to support Donald Trump and other Republicans.

Despite not parting with financial contributions, Cuban highlighted his ability to support Harris through his expertise, particularly in detailed business discussions that differentiate her policies from Trump’s.

During the interview, Cuban mentioned a brief consideration of a presidential run in 2020 but declared no interest in political office or a cabinet position under Harris or any other administration. He admitted to enjoying his role as an entrepreneurial disruptor.

Yet, last month, Cuban expressed interest in a potential role as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission during a CNBC appearance, advocating for regulatory changes. This suggestion comes as he has previously criticized the current chairman, Gary Gensler.

Despite agreeing with criticism from former Trump administration officials concerning the former president’s alleged authoritarian tendencies, Cuban stated he would remain in the country regardless of the election outcome, expressing his commitment to contribute positively to the nation under any presidency.
