Tony’s Chocolonely has issued a recall of several chocolate bars after discovering that they may contain small stones. This issue arose because the stones were not filtered out during the almond harvesting and processing handled by a third-party processor. The recalled bars were sold both in retail stores across the U.S. and on the company’s website.
The recall affects seven lots of Tony’s Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar and Everything Bar, which were distributed nationwide from February 7 to March 24 of this year. The company indicated that, while the likelihood of any individual product being affected is low, the recall was initiated as a precautionary measure to ensure consumer safety and satisfaction. No complaints have been reported in North America thus far.
