The onset of October has already ushered in the tradition known as Christmas creep. Alongside the usual Halloween costumes and candy, stores are beginning to introduce Christmas decorations and holiday gifts well ahead of the customary start of the holiday shopping season.
In the cruise industry, companies such as the late Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville at Sea are advancing holiday deals with early Black Friday cruise sales taking place in October.
On social media, conversations around Christmas decorations are gaining traction. Many individuals express an eagerness to transform their homes into festive wonderlands as soon as Halloween ends. Experts suggest that decorating for the holidays can boost happiness, encouraging those in need of holiday cheer to embrace the early festivities.
Even those not decorating their homes by November 1 can enjoy holiday celebrations aboard a Disney cruise, beginning November 4.
Disney Cruise Line has arranged for its Very Merrytime holiday cruises to commence on November 4. The Disney Wish will be the first ship in the fleet to embody the holiday spirit, starting with a four-night Very Merrytime Bahamian cruise from Port Canaveral from November 4 to November 8.
Throughout November and December, Disney Cruise Line will offer holiday-themed cruises on four ships departing from three ports. These cruises will provide holiday experiences at sea on Bahamian and Caribbean routes departing from Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, and Galveston.
The Very Merrytime holiday cruises will be adorned with decorations and feature a range of holiday-themed entertainment and activities, which vary by ship and itinerary. Activities include a tree lighting ceremony, a holiday party on the upper decks, and opportunities to meet Santa Claus and Disney characters in festive attire. Passengers are encouraged to bring their most cheerful holiday outfits.
On cruises visiting Disney’s private island, Disney Castaway Cay, guests can enjoy island-themed festive activities, including “snow” flurries and a tropical Christmas tree.
Furthermore, Disney Cruise Line plans to participate in the Thanksgiving Day festivities on land in New York City. The company will introduce its “Magic Meets the Seas” float at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28, celebrating the expansion of its fleet.
The parade float will feature representations of all eight ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, including the new Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, and Disney Adventure. The Disney Treasure, set to embark on its maiden voyage on December 21, will be the centerpiece of the float.
At the helm, Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse will be accompanied by Disney characters showcasing the experiences available on the Disney Treasure. These characters represent popular films like “Coco,” “Moana,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
The parade audience will also be treated to a performance that includes songs from these beloved Disney films, culminating in a confetti-filled finale featuring the Disney Treasure’s anthem, “Live the Adventure.”
For its initial season, the Disney Treasure will offer a variety of seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral. The ship will introduce exciting new attractions, including the first theatrical dinner show inspired by the Disney and Pixar film “Coco,” a “Disney The Tale of Moana” Broadway-style show, and a bar inspired by the Haunted Mansion.
