FOX Business host Larry Kudlow discussed the recent decisions by the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post not to endorse a presidential candidate this year on his show “Kudlow.”
A significant focus on the show was Donald Trump’s rising re-election momentum. The New York Post, which ranks as the fourth-largest daily newspaper in the U.S., recently issued a comprehensive endorsement of Trump. Kudlow mentioned that FOX Business shares common ownership with the New York Post. The endorsement emphasized policies such as a secure border, a sensible immigration system, safer cities with enhanced law enforcement support, and an economy energized by low taxes, minimal regulation, and a supportive energy policy. Additionally, it highlighted educational policies that restore parental choice regarding school choice, gender surgery, and trans athletes, along with advocating for America’s respected global standing.
The New York Post’s editorial criticized Kamala Harris as lacking in qualifications and characterized her as a “San Francisco progressive” with concealed radical plans. Concurrently, the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times, both known for their liberal perspectives and previous endorsements of Joe Biden four years ago, chose not to endorse any candidate this year. Similarly, the Minnesota Star Tribune abstained from endorsing the Democratic ticket, despite supporting Biden in the previous election.
Kudlow noted a shift among traditionally liberal factions and mentioned Senate candidates praising Trump in their ads, indicating a potential political shift. He also commented on Trump’s improving favorability ratings, noting that a Gallup poll showed Trump being viewed favorably by 50% of U.S. adults, an increase from 36% during his 2016 victory. In contrast, Kamala Harris’s favorability was lower, with a 53% unfavorable rating.
Kudlow concluded by acknowledging that although polls are not votes, the trend in Trump’s popularity and perceived policy success suggests a significant change in the political landscape.
