Stuart Varney, host of “Varney & Co.,” recently expressed criticism towards Vice President Kamala Harris, highlighting what he perceives as her inadequacies in handling illegal immigration during her tenure. Varney remarked that Harris’s explanation for the admission of 8.5 million illegal immigrants under her oversight constitutes “classic misinformation.”
Harris, having served as vice president for three and a half years, was assigned the responsibility of addressing border issues early in her term. Although not officially titled as the “border czar,” this was the role bestowed upon her, and Varney argues she did not succeed in this capacity.
With Harris now participating in interviews, her team is attempting to provide justifications for the situation, including blaming previous administration policies and this year’s unsuccessful border legislation. However, Varney contends that these arguments do not account for the developments of the past few years.
In a recent discussion with Charlamagne tha God, Harris claimed initial efforts upon taking office included a bill aimed at rectifying the immigration system. Varney believes this is an attempt to deflect blame. The bill Harris referred to, known as “The U.S. Citizenship Act,” primarily sought to create a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented migrants in the United States. Varney characterized this legislation as an amnesty bill with minimal support, unrelated to the border situation that unfolded subsequently, and suggested it was crafted to increase the number of Democrat voters.
Varney’s comments reflect his view that Harris is employing “classic misinformation,” not lying outright but diverting attention from the issue of accountability. As the election approaches, Harris faces challenges in distancing herself from this criticized aspect of her vice presidency.
