Team USA and Canada are set to face each other once more in the 4 Nations Face-Off final on Thursday night in Boston, marking a rematch just four days after the Americans emerged victorious over the Canadians in a closely fought contest.
The round-robin tournament has garnered significant attention among hockey enthusiasts, with both players and fans exhibiting strong national pride. However, those wishing to witness the event live at Boston’s TD Garden are expected to pay a premium for last-minute tickets.
As of late Thursday afternoon, the most affordable tickets available on the Gametime marketplace were priced at $720, excluding taxes and fees. Seats with optimal views near the ice exceeded $5,000 before additional charges.
With Canada keen on avenging their recent loss, attention is also focused on the pregame atmosphere. Some fans in Montreal expressed dissatisfaction by booing “The Star-Spangled Banner” during its performance before earlier matches. This unrest reflects wider displeasure linked to President Trump’s recent comments regarding Canada’s potential statehood and ongoing tariff discussions.
Once the competition relocated to the U.S., some attendees at Boston’s TD Garden reciprocated by booing “O Canada.” President Trump extended his support to the American team with a phone call on Thursday, which was appreciated by team members such as center J.T. Miller.
Miller remarked on the significance of receiving support from the President, noting the team’s surprise and honor at the gesture during the tournament.
In a recent appearance on “America’s Newsroom,” Bill Guerin, general manager of the U.S. men’s team, expressed enthusiasm for a potential Trump visit to the final, although the President is tied up with commitments at the Republican Governors Association Meeting in Washington, D.C.
The highly anticipated 4 Nations Face-Off final is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET.
