Universal’s newest theme park, Epic Universe, is set to open in Orlando, Florida, on May 22, 2025. The park is currently undergoing trial operations with team members, their families, and media representatives. FOX Business recently provided a preview of the attraction, which features portals leading to “five immersive worlds” offering shopping, dining, and new rides.
The first portal leads visitors into Celestial Park, which is described as “the heart of Universal Epic Universe” in a media release. It has lush gardens, pathways, and walkways, emphasizing the “park” aspect of a theme park. Serving as the central hub of the park, Celestial Park connects to various lands through these portals and features attractions, including the intense Stardust Racers roller coaster and the Constellation Carousel.
Visitors can choose from lands themed around How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, and Super Nintendo World. Additionally, the Universal Helios Grand Hotel is a prominent feature, offering 500 rooms with a dedicated entrance into the park.
According to the 2023 TEA/AECOM Theme Index and Museum Index, Universal Destinations and Experiences, a division of Comcast NBCUniversal, ranks fourth among the top 10 theme park operators globally. Disney Experiences holds the top spot, and both companies are gearing up for a competitive summer with Disney offering special promotions and new shows.
Disney Parks Blog announced that all six of Disney World’s parks, including four theme parks and two water parks, will be open from May 21 through September 7, offering experiences at both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.
Universal Orlando Resort, spanning 700 acres, currently manages Universal Studios Florida, Universal Island of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay. With the upcoming launch, Universal Epic Universe will add to the resort’s offerings.
