Bridge linking US and Canada closed after vehicle explosion, FBI investigates.

The Rainbow Bridge connecting the U.S. and Canada at Niagara Falls, New York, was closed following a vehicle explosion that occurred when a vehicle crossed into the U.S. from Canada. The FBI is currently at the scene, and all four Canada-U.S. bridges over the Niagara River have been closed out of an abundance of caution. New York Governor Kathy Hochul has directed the New York State Police to actively work with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force to monitor all points of entry to New York, and she plans to travel to Buffalo to meet with law enforcement and emergency responders.

Additional security measures are being implemented at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, including car checks and enhanced traveler screenings. Ontario Premier Doug Ford stated that provincial law enforcement is actively working with local law enforcement to assess the situation and provide support. This is a developing story, and updates are expected as the investigation continues. Please check back for the latest information on this incident.
