A 21-year-old man riding a stolen motorcycle was tragically killed in Des Moines on Saturday evening. The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of E. 38th Street and Hubbell Avenue when the motorcycle collided with a 2008 Buick Enclave in the westbound lanes of Hubbell Avenue. The motorcyclist was reportedly driving at a high speed at the time of the accident. Fortunately, the occupants of the Buick, two adults and a child, escaped uninjured. This incident marks the 12th traffic-related fatality in Des Moines this year and the third involving a motorcycle. The Des Moines Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the crash.
