The death of Pava LaPere, a 26-year-old CEO, is being investigated as a homicide after her body was discovered in her apartment in Baltimore. The police initially received a report of a missing person but later received another call leading them to LaPere’s apartment, where they found her body. Investigators believe that she suffered blunt force trauma. LaPere was the founder and CEO of EcoMap Technologies, a company that creates data maps and aims to provide easy access to information about ecosystems. She had gained recognition for her work and was listed in Forbes’ “30 Under 30” class of 2023 for social impact. Her passing has deeply saddened her company and the Baltimore community.

EcoMap Technologies released a statement expressing their grief and extending condolences to LaPere’s family, friends, and loved ones. They praised LaPere’s dedication as a leader, visionary, and compassionate individual. They emphasized her commitment to the company, Baltimore, and the important work of ecosystems, stating that her legacy will continue through the work they do. LaPere, originally from Arizona, was a graduate of Johns Hopkins University. The school also issued a statement lamenting the tragic loss and highlighting her contributions to the Baltimore entrepreneurship community.

The investigation into LaPere’s death is currently ongoing, as authorities work to gather more information and determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
