Police in Joliet, Illinois were searching for a suspect identified as Romeo Nance after seven people were found dead in two homes. Nance was located near Natalia, Texas by U.S. Marshals where it is “believed that Nance took his own life with a handgun following a confrontation with Texas law enforcement officials.” The victims in the homes were “known to Nance,” and his last known address was on the block where the crimes were discovered. Both shootings that took place Sunday had a correlation with the scene discovered Monday according to Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans.
Late yesterday, Illinois law enforcement officials discovered seven deceased people from gunshot wounds in two homes in Joliet. After authorities earlier said they were searching for suspect, they identified him as Romeo Nance, 23. Reports now confirm that police located Nance near Natalia, Texas. It is believed that Nance took his own life with a handgun following a confrontation with Texas law enforcement officials.
The victims of the homicides in Joliet were “known to Nance,” and his last known address was on the block where the crimes were discovered, according to authorities. Investigators have found a correlation between two shootings that took place on Sunday and the homicides discovered on Monday, details of which are yet to be released. Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans has addressed the scene officers found and maintains that the investigation is ongoing with the motive remaining undetermined.
