A 54-year-old Minnesota man, Nicolae Miu, was convicted for the slaying of Stillwater High School student, Isaac Schuman, and the stabbing of four others who were tubing on the Apple River in St. Croix County, Wisconsin. The incident occurred in late July 2022 when Miu attacked the group after being accused of approaching children in the water while tubing with his wife and others. This led to a confrontation where Miu allegedly used a knife to fatally stab Schuman and wound the other victims.
Miu was found guilty of first-degree reckless homicide, four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and one count of battery by a Wisconsin circuit court jury.
