No Labels has announced that they will not be running a third-party “unity” ticket in the upcoming 2024 presidential election involving Donald Trump and Joe Biden. The centrist group stated that despite efforts to find a candidate with a credible chance to win on their bipartisan platform, they were unable to do so. Therefore, they have decided that the responsible course of action is to stand down and not field a candidate for the election.
Although No Labels recognizes that Americans are more open to an independent presidential run and are seeking unifying national leadership, they were unable to find suitable candidates to represent their values. The group remains committed to promoting dialogue around major policy challenges and pushing for solutions to America’s biggest problems. While they may not be running a candidate in this election, they emphasize that their movement is just beginning and their work to organize citizens and members of Congress will continue.
Some names that had been considered for the third-party ticket included Chris Christie, Nikki Haley, Andy Beshear, Bill Cassidy, and Chris Sununu. However, none of these figures ultimately joined the campaign. Despite the group facing pressure to act as a potential spoiler for one of the major party candidates, No Labels has reiterated their commitment to not fueling a spoiler candidate and ensuring their actions do not negatively impact the election outcome.
