In recent weeks, there has been growing attention on the movement to “Make America Healthy Again.” Individuals are encountering various influences, including wellness promoters without formal credentials and bloggers advocating for natural lifestyles, raising questions about figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who transitioned from environmental advocacy to anti-vaccination narratives. Additionally, there is a notable increase in media appearances by personalities such as Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz.
This environment sets the backdrop for a new series titled “The ROAD to Making America Healthy Again (MAHA),” aimed at exploring the roots, conspiracy theories, and strategic power shifts contributing to this movement and its implications on public health.
In the latest segment of the series, the focus shifts to the concept of “crunchy conservatives.” Brittany, one of the hosts, is joined by Derek Beres, a co-host of the “Conspirituality” podcast, and Dr. Andrea Love, a biomedical scientist. Together, they examine the evolution of the term “crunchy” from its association with liberal, eco-friendly individuals to its current connection with conservative conspiracy theories.
This segment is part of an episode produced by Alexis Williams and edited by Neena Pathak. The project is overseen by Supervising Producer Barton Girdwood and Executive Producer Veralyn Williams, with Yolanda Sangweni serving as the Vice President of Programming.
