Two young children were tragically killed while walking to school in Maryland after being struck by a car. The incident occurred at around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Riverdale and Taylor roads as the children were on their way to Riverdale Elementary School. Despite being taken to the hospital in critical condition, they both sadly succumbed to their injuries. Witnesses revealed that the victims were a girl and a boy, and video footage from the scene showed a large black Ford van within the cordoned off area.

The driver responsible for the accident remained at the scene as police closed off the intersection for investigation. Concerns were raised about the lack of traffic control at the intersection, with one woman mentioning that she did not see a crossing guard when she was in the area just minutes before the crash. The school informed parents that they could pick up their children, and many were seen lining up outside to be checked out after the tragic incident.

As of the time of the article’s publication, police had not provided further information regarding the victims or the driver involved. The community was left devastated by the loss of these young lives, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident continues.
