The weather in Alabama is set to clear up and become milder and more sunny through the middle of the week. Chilly nights and mild, sunny days are expected until the weekend, when soaking rain is expected to start as early as Friday. With the potential for scattered frost in colder areas early on Tuesday, temperatures are expected to drop to the 30s and lower 40s. Mild afternoons with highs near 60 degrees are expected for much of North and Central Alabama. The clear, sunny weather is expected to continue on Wednesday and Thursday, with even nicer conditions and temperatures in the mid-60s. However, a disturbed weather pattern is predicted to bring multiple days of gray, rainy weather for much of the state starting on Thursday evening.

The upcoming unsettled weather pattern, starting on Friday and lasting through the weekend, is forecast to feature heavy rain, with steady, soaking rain and a stiff south breeze making outdoor activities difficult. On Saturday, there is the potential for around 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, and scattered showers are expected to continue into Sunday. The active weather pattern is predicted to last through Monday and Tuesday, with an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall expected by Tuesday night, yielding a total of 2 to 3 inches on average. Despite the milder weather expected in the coming days, colder-than-usual weather is expected to return around mid-February, with the possibility of Arctic air dropping temperatures to the 10s for lows and 30s for highs multiple times through early March. This weather pattern also brings with it the potential for snow. It is advised to stay updated with weather alerts and forecasts to prepare for the potential changes in weather.
