Two individuals were taken into custody in Los Angeles after a driver led police on a reckless chase through the city’s surface streets. The driver, who was behind the wheel of a stolen Dodge Challenger, refused to yield to officers and drove at high speeds, often on the wrong side of the road. Due to the dangerous nature of the pursuit, the Los Angeles Police Department decided to halt the chase and track the driver until conditions were safer to attempt another stop.
Despite not being pursued by officers, the driver continued to drive recklessly, cutting off other vehicles and narrowly avoiding collisions. The pursuit primarily took place in areas such as South Los Angeles, East LA, South Gate, and Boyle Heights. Ultimately, the driver abandoned the Dodge Challenger and switched to another vehicle. However, police were able to apprehend both individuals in the second vehicle near the intersection of Vernon Avenue and Hoover Street. The LAPD later revealed that the passenger in the second vehicle was the one who initiated the pursuit. As of now, no information has been released regarding the charges the two individuals may face.
