Alienware unveiled its Pro Mouse and Keyboard during CES 2024, and the company is now expanding the series with the introduction of the Pro Headset. In developing this new addition, Alienware collaborated with over 100 esports competitors and streamers, integrating their feedback with the company’s technical expertise. This collaboration resulted in an extensive 18-month testing period, producing a headset that offers up to 75 hours of battery life.
This battery life is contingent on specific usage conditions. The 75-hour lifespan applies when the headset is used without active noise canceling (ANC) and connected via Bluetooth. Under a 2.4GHz connection with ANC activated, the maximum battery life decreases to 35 hours. When the microphone is utilized, the battery life is 35 hours with ANC off and 25 hours with it on.
The ANC feature of the Alienware Pro Headset effectively blocks out surrounding noises, but users can enable Transparency Mode if they need to remain aware of their environment. Transparency Mode allows users to adjust the level of background noise attenuation.
The headset includes 50mm drivers coated with graphene, which minimizes distortion at higher frequencies. These drivers enhance the audio experience with vertical and 360-degree sound capabilities, allowing players to pinpoint enemy locations based on auditory cues.
For communication, the headset’s microphone is detachable and features two mics with AI-powered noise cancellation, ensuring clear voice transmission to teammates. Additionally, the headset is designed for comfort and usability, featuring replaceable memory foam earcups and physical control buttons for easy adjustments during gameplay. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3, wireless 2.4Ghz, and USB connections.
The Alienware Pro Headset will be available in October for $150. While Alienware has not disclosed the exact launch date or specific regional availability beyond North America, fans of the brand can look forward to its release in the coming month.
