Amazon has updated its basic Fire TV Stick by rebranding it as the Fire TV Stick HD and reducing the price slightly. When visiting the previous product listing on the website, customers are directed to the new Fire TV Stick HD, indicating that a new model is available. Although the specifications remain largely the same as the previous version, it includes the capability to stream in full HD resolution, supports HDR, and comes with an Alexa-enabled remote control that allows users to search and launch apps via voice commands.
The Fire TV Stick HD is compatible with popular streaming apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and Peacock, with dedicated buttons on the remote for easy access to Netflix and Prime Video. The newly branded device is priced at a base rate of $35, which is $5 less than the earlier edition priced at $40. This version comes with a more comprehensive remote as compared to the “lite” remote of the previous model, which had fewer buttons.
Consumers seeking to stream 4K content might consider other Amazon options, including the Fire TV Stick 4K, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max with 16GB storage, and the Fire TV Cube, which features hands-free streaming with built-in microphones and speakers.
