Blackmagic has unveiled the DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel, a compact and affordable option for professional color grading. At just 14.33 inches by 7.18 inches, the panel is smaller than Blackmagic’s other color panels and features an iPad Pro mounting slot, three weighted trackballs, and 12 control knobs for adjusting various elements of the color grading process. The company has positioned many of the controls in familiar places to make the transition from larger panels seamless for editors.
Priced at just over half of Blackmagic’s Micro Panel, the new Micro Color Panel offers similar features but with added connectivity options like Bluetooth and USB-C. CEO Grant Petty highlighted the company’s focus on creating a more portable and cost-effective solution for customers who value compact grading panels. Additionally, Blackmagic will offer localized versions of the panel in multiple languages to cater to a diverse range of users, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder the user experience.
For those interested in experiencing the new DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel firsthand, Blackmagic will be showcasing the device at NAB 2024, providing attendees with a hands-on demonstration at their show booth. The company’s commitment to innovation and accessibility is evident in the design and functionality of this new panel, catering to the needs of professionals in the color grading industry.
