The PS5 Pro is expected to have a GPU rendering speed about 45 percent faster than the standard PS5, with enhancements to system memory and a new high CPU frequency mode that offers more power allocation to the CPU at the expense of slightly less to the GPU. Sony is encouraging game developers to create titles that support both the standard PS5 and the upcoming Pro model, with existing games potentially receiving patches for enhanced performance on the new console. If developers can meet the certification deadline in August, the PS5 Pro is expected to launch during the holiday season of 2024, following a similar release strategy as the PS4 with a standard model, a slim version, and then a Pro edition.
