The latest expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, called Phantom Liberty, has a frustrating issue that wastes players’ time. The game features a mechanic where players have to wait for an undetermined amount of time for certain quests to activate, and this problem continues in the Phantom Liberty expansion. Players are left waiting around, doing nothing, and hoping for the next mission to appear. This waiting time can be especially long in some parts of the expansion, causing frustration among players.

One particular mission in Phantom Liberty, called “The Killing Moon,” requires players to wait for a phone call from a character named Songbird. This wait can be one of the longest experienced in the game, with players having to spend days or weeks of in-game time before progressing. Even reviewers of the expansion have faced the same problem and couldn’t find a consistent solution to trigger the quest. This issue has been widely discussed on platforms like Reddit, with players trying to figure out the hold-up and sharing their experiences.

Although there are suggestions on completing other quests like “Run This Town” to progress, some players have been able to continue “The Killing Moon” without completing these additional quests. CD Projekt Red, the developer of Cyberpunk 2077, has not addressed this issue yet, but it is clear that players are struggling with the long waiting times in the game. Players facing this problem can find some conflicting information on how to proceed, and the quest is likely not bugged. The frustration caused by this waiting mechanic has affected the overall experience of the Phantom Liberty expansion.
