On Friday, Apple unveiled its first developer beta for iOS 18.4, introducing a new feature called “Priority Notifications” that is supported by Apple Intelligence. This feature is designed to aid users in managing notifications by prioritizing significant alerts while reducing distractions from less critical notifications.
These priority notifications are showcased in a distinct section on the device’s Lock Screen. Apple Intelligence determines which notifications should be presented in this area, although users can still swipe up to access all notifications.
At present, iPhones organize notifications chronologically, displaying the latest alerts at the top. However, with the introduction of this new feature, important notifications will be prioritized and shown first, even if they were received earlier than others.
According to 9to5Mac, Priority Notifications is initially disabled but can be activated by navigating to the Settings app, selecting the “Notifications” option, and entering the “Prioritize Notifications” section, where users can toggle the feature on.
Furthermore, Apple announced that Apple Intelligence will be integrated into the Vision Pro through visionOS 2.4. While a beta version of the software is currently available for developers, the public release is scheduled for April. Additionally, the company introduced Apple News+ Food, a new section enabling users to search and save recipes from various News+ publishing partners.
