However, some Mac users have reported encountering issues with macOS Sequoia related to their cybersecurity tools. According to TechCrunch, those who upgraded to macOS Sequoia are facing compatibility issues with their cybersecurity software.
Reports on social media, such as Reddit, indicate that Mac users who upgraded to macOS Sequoia are experiencing network connection issues. These issues seem to be resolved when users disable cybersecurity tools from various companies, including Microsoft, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and ESET.
Additionally, BleepingComputer has found that some Mac users are also experiencing problems with their VPN applications on macOS Sequoia. This might be linked to changes in macOS Sequoia’s firewall, as indicated in the release notes, which may have disrupted the functionality of these applications. This firewall issue also appears to be affecting some users’ Firefox web browsers.
Given these challenges, turning off antivirus software or firewalls is not a viable long-term solution. Companies such as CrowdStrike and SentinelOne are advising users to refrain from upgrading to macOS Sequoia until these issues are addressed.
Although many Apple Mac users might not experience these specific issues due to not using these products, it is essential to recognize that any new software launch can present problems initially. Users are advised to check with the developers of their essential applications for any compatibility issues before upgrading.
