Fans of Solar Opposites have learned that the animated series’ upcoming sixth season on Hulu will be its last. The announcement was made through an Instagram post, hinting at the “final mission" and highlighting a celebratory Taco Tuesday meal.
The show’s premiere is expected this fall, though Hulu has not confirmed whether this season will include a holiday special, a tradition for the series with previous specials celebrating Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day.
A brief plot description indicates that the Solar Opposites family faces challenges as they go broke on Earth without their usual sci-fi devices or indulgences like video games, snacks, and luxury watches.
The season will continue with the Wall subplot, which follows the saga of tiny people living in the Solar Opposites’ home after being shrunk by an alien device. The narrative promises the usual chaos from the alien family alongside the unfolding drama in the Wall that has captivated audiences. Featured guest stars for the final season include Christina Hendricks as Cherie and Alfred Molina as Ringo, the Duke. Additional guest appearances will come from Tiffany Haddish as the AI for the alien ship, Oscar winner Kieran Culkin as Glen, and others like Ken Marino, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Beck Bennett.
The main cast includes Dan Stevens as Korvo, Thomas Middleditch as Terry, Mary Mack as Jesse, and Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack. Josh Bycel and Sydney Ryan are executive producers along with co-creator Mike McMahan.
As the series approaches its conclusion, fans can anticipate a final season filled with laughter and unexpected moments.
