The Windows version of the ChatGPT app functions similarly to its Mac counterpart, allowing users to engage with the AI-powered chatbot in a dedicated window alongside other applications. This app can be quickly accessed using the shortcut Alt + Space.
Additionally, the Windows app enables users to upload files and photos for interaction with ChatGPT and provides access to a preview of OpenAI’s o1 model, which is equipped with “reasoning” capabilities. However, it currently lacks some features, such as an advanced voice mode.
At present, only subscribers of ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, Team, and Edu can utilize the app on Windows. OpenAI has stated plans to make the app available to all users later this year.
