JLab offers a budget-friendly option for noise-canceling wireless earbuds with its $59.99 ANC 3 model. However, the company’s latest product, the Go Pop ANC, is priced at $29.99 and provides features such as ambient sound boosting and up to 21 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation (ANC) turned on.
Although these earbuds have not yet been tested, JLab’s Go Pop ANC is not expected to match the noise-canceling performance of top-tier models from companies like Sony. The earbuds employ a two-microphone feed-forward system to detect and cancel external noise. In contrast, more sophisticated and expensive models use a hybrid system with additional microphones inside the ear to handle a broader range of frequencies.
The Go Pop ANC earbuds offer up to seven hours of battery life without the charging case when ANC is off, extending to 24 hours when using the case. With ANC activated, the earbuds’ battery life reduces to six hours, and up to 21 hours with the case. A quick 10-minute charge provides an extra hour of playback, and the charging case includes a built-in USB-C cable to ensure users are not left scrambling for a charger.
Equipped with 10-millimeter drivers, the Go Pop ANC earbuds feature larger audio components than JLab’s similarly priced models, such as the $25 Go Air Pop. They also offer touch controls for activating ANC or ambient sound modes and managing playback without needing a phone. For changes to EQ presets or touch control configurations, JLab’s app must be used via mobile devices.
Additional features include IP55 waterproofing, making them suitable for use in rainy conditions or during exercise, Bluetooth 5.3 support, multi-device connectivity, and Google Fast Pair. However, Bluetooth codec support is limited to SBC, which may make the Go Pop ANC more suitable as a backup option rather than a primary choice for daily use.
