However, there were also some declines, with DocuSign shares falling more than 3% following a restructuring announcement and UBS U.S.-traded shares dropping more than 5% after the bank posted its second straight quarter of losses.

FMC shares dropped 10% after weaker-than-expected quarterly results and poor guidance, while Rambus shares tumbled 16% after the chipmaker reported a year-over-year decline in revenue in the fourth quarter. Despite the varied stock movements in midday trading, several companies experienced significant gains and losses.
