A woman in her 60s has tragically died after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Citrus Heights. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District reported that the fire was already well established by the time emergency crews arrived at the scene, near Fair Oaks Boulevard and Greenback Lane. Despite efforts to rescue her, the victim was pulled out of the fire and transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Sadly, she did not survive. The fire has been extinguished, but the cause is currently under investigation.
