A possible tornado caused extensive damage to South Slidell, leading the Slidell Police Department to urge residents to avoid the roads. Buildings, trees, powerlines, and several apartment complexes were all affected by the tornado, with over 50 people rescued from a damaged apartment complex. Slidell Police Public Information Officer Daniel Seuzeneau described the situation as severe, with multiple businesses directly hit but fortunately, no fatalities reported, only moderate injuries.

Slidell Mayor Greg Cromer emphasized the impact on Old Spanish Trail, where individuals were trapped in their cars but later rescued. The damage caused by the tornado has left trees and power lines down, making the area hazardous for anyone passing through. With all hands on deck for the emergency response, the community is working together to assess the damages and ensure the safety of those affected. Residents are urged to stay away from the affected area to allow for emergency personnel to clear the debris and assess the extent of the damage.
