Apple has announced that it will release an iOS 17 software update to fix the overheating issue experienced by some iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max devices. Contrary to reports, Apple clarified that the design of the iPhone 15 Pro does not contribute to overheating. The company identified certain third-party apps, including Instagram, Uber, and Asphalt 9: Legends, that have overloaded the A17 Pro chip, causing the temperature-related issue. Apple is working with the developers of these apps to address the matter. The bug fix will not compromise the chip’s performance or impact its long-term functionality.

In response to the overheating concerns, Apple plans to release an iOS 17 software update for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Apple has emphasized that the titanium frame of the devices is not to blame for the overheating issue, as it actually provides better heat dissipation compared to previous Pro models with stainless steel frames. The problem arises from certain third-party apps, such as Instagram and Uber, as well as the game Asphalt 9: Legends, which are overloading the A17 Pro chip. Apple is collaborating with these app developers to resolve the issue without compromising the chip’s performance or long-term functionality.
