Apple has acknowledged that its new iPhone 15 and 15 Pro models have been experiencing overheating issues. The company stated that background activity, an iOS 17 bug, and certain third-party apps were the culprits behind the excessive heat. Apple clarified that the problem did not stem from the new titanium body, the A1 Pro chip, high-power chargers, or the USB-C connector. While the heat issue has improved for some users over time, others are still waiting for a fix to address the problem.

In other news, startup company Humane, founded by ex-Apple executives, has introduced a device called the Ai Pin. This wearable AI assistant utilizes projectors, cameras, and AI technology. The Ai Pin was unveiled at a Paris fashion show and was even worn by Naomi Campbell. Described as a “screenless, standalone device and software platform built from the ground up for AI,” the specifics of the device’s internet connectivity remain unclear. More information about the Ai Pin will be revealed on November 9.

Lastly, actor Tom Hanks called out an advertisement for using a deepfake of his likeness without his permission. Hanks shared his concerns about the use of AI-generated videos, highlighting the ethical issues surrounding the use of actors’ digital likenesses. The use of AI to profit from celebrities’ legacies has already sparked debate, as seen with the documentary “Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain” which featured AI-generated voiceovers of Bourdain. Hanks’ warning brings attention to the industry’s challenges regarding AI and the protection of celebrities’ images and voices.
