Google is introducing a new feature that allows users to react to emails with emojis, giving the ability to express their feelings or opinions quickly and easily. The feature works by displaying a smiley face at the bottom of a message, and users can choose from a selection of emojis in a menu and send it with a tap. Some emojis, such as the party popper, will trigger a full-page animation. Users can also see who added a reaction and reuse reactions from others.

While this feature is similar to how people use emojis on social media, it is expected to work best on Gmail compared to third-party email clients. However, there are several restrictions to consider. Emoji reactions are not available for school or work accounts, messages sent to more than 20 people, group email lists, or if the user has been bcc’d. Additionally, if a user has already sent more than 20 reactions to a message, they will not be able to react further.

Overall, Google’s new emoji reaction feature aims to enhance the email experience by allowing users to express themselves more easily and add a touch of fun to their conversations.
