Google Pixel Buds Pro Rumored to Feature Conversation Detection in Upcoming Update

Google is reportedly planning a software update for its Pixel Buds Pro earbuds that includes several new features. These features seem to be inspired by Apple’s AirPods Pro. One of the features is conversation detection, which automatically pauses media playback and activates transparency mode when the wearer starts speaking. This feature was recently added to Apple’s AirPods Pro, but Sony had implemented it earlier with a similar feature called “Speak to Chat.” However, no manufacturer has yet figured out how to account for a user singing along to a song quietly.

Another feature mentioned in the report is “hearing wellness.” This feature provides users with a visual indicator of how loud the audio they are listening to is getting. It includes a live decibel measurement and guidelines on acceptable levels to maintain long-term hearing health. This feature is similar to the noise level warnings on the Apple Watch and the hearing wellness features found in Sony’s WF-1000XM5 earbuds.

Additionally, the report suggests that the Pixel Buds Pro may also receive the Clear Calling feature from Pixel phones, as well as Bluetooth super wideband and a low-latency gaming mode. Bluetooth super wideband improves wireless audio compression, while Clear Calling reduces background noise during phone calls. These features aim to enhance the sound quality and user experience of the Pixel Buds Pro.

Overall, if these rumors are accurate, users can expect an update with these new features in firmware version 5.9 for the Google Pixel Buds Pro.
