Overwatch 2 has revealed that its Season 7: Rise of Darkness will begin on Oct. 10, coinciding with Halloween. One of the highlights of this season is a brand new skin featuring Lilith, the main antagonist from Diablo IV. The announcement came through a video posted on Twitter, showcasing the Halloween-themed Blizzard World map, along with a sneak peek of the Moira/Lilith skin. While the trailer didn’t reveal much else, leaks on Reddit suggest that Widowmaker, Echo, and Hanzo will also receive Halloween-appropriate skins. Additionally, during the Overwatch League Grand Finals, developers provided a deeper look into a new control map called Samoa, set to launch alongside Season 7.

As Halloween draws near, Overwatch 2 gears up for Season 7: Rise of Darkness. Along with the start of the season on Oct. 10, players can look forward to a host of Halloween-themed events and updates. The highlight of this season is the inclusion of a new skin featuring Lilith, the main villain from Diablo IV. The official Overwatch account on Twitter released a video showcasing the revamped Halloween version of the Blizzard World map, giving players a glimpse of the Moira/Lilith skin as well. While the video didn’t disclose further details, leaks on Reddit have hinted at Halloween skins for Widowmaker, Echo, and a Mythic skin for Hanzo. Moreover, the recent Overwatch League Grand Finals presented a deep dive into the new control map called Samoa, offering players scenic battlegrounds to fight over, such as beaches, downtown areas, and volcano points.

Notably, Lilith’s appearance in Overwatch 2 is not an isolated cross-over. In other recent collaborations, Lilith has also made her way into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0’s The Haunting event, where players have the opportunity to purchase Diablo-themed bundles and play as both Lilith and Inarius Operators. This is not the first time that the worlds of Diablo and Overwatch have collided, as previous Diablo-themed Overwatch skins have featured characters such as Barbarian Zarya, Demon Hunter Sombra, and Butcher Roadhog. With the release of Season 7: Rise of Darkness, Overwatch 2 not only celebrates Halloween but also showcases its ongoing integration of beloved characters and themes from various Activision Blizzard IPs.
