In a surprising move, Overwatch 2 has announced its creepy season seven, titled Rise of Darkness. The teaser trailer, released on October 2, hints at a crossover with Diablo IV. While the full trailer will be released on October 4, fans can expect the new season to feature the Tristram Cathedral final point in Blizzard World, a map that pays homage to various Blizzard franchises. The teaser showcases a transformed Wrecking Ball, who sports a black, red, and gold decoration inspired by Diablo’s fiery aesthetic. The most notable transformation, however, is seen in Moira, who dons a Lilith skin featuring iconic demonic attributes such as goat horns, reptilian eyebrows, and black lipstick.

According to leaks from Bulgarian streamer bogur, Rise of Darkness may also introduce a battle pass with attractive rewards. This includes a highly coveted Mythic skin for Hanzo, as well as Halloween-themed outfits such as a gothic Ghost Bride dress for Widowmaker and a Victorian Doll costume for Echo. Each battle pass is priced at $10 or 1,000 Overwatch Coins. This unexpected collaboration between Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV follows a recent trend of cross-overs and collaborations in gaming, with Diablo IV incorporating characters from Call of Duty and partnering with Halsey and Suga from BTS for a promotional anthem. Likewise, Overwatch has recently collaborated with One Punch Man and hosted a Star Wars-inspired event.

Overwatch 2 Season 7, Rise of Darkness, is set to release on October 10, promising an eerie and exciting experience for players. The teaser trailer hints at a Diablo IV crossover, with the Tristram Cathedral final point making an appearance. Fans can look forward to exploring this map, which showcases various sections paying homage to Blizzard’s diverse franchises. The teaser also introduces Moira’s stunning Lilith skin, featuring demonic elements such as goat horns and reptilian eyebrows. Leaked information suggests that the season will offer a battle pass with desirable rewards, including a highly sought-after Mythic skin for Hanzo and Halloween-themed outfits for Widowmaker and Echo. With collaborations becoming more commonplace in the gaming industry, this unexpected crossover further highlights the interconnectivity between different game franchises and media. Players can prepare themselves for an immersive and spooky experience when Overwatch 2 Season 7 is released on October 10.
